4.5 litres wine in large saucepan.

Halve 2 oranges and squeeze the juice into the wine.

Pepper the orange halves with about 50 cloves, and put them in the wine.

Add the following extras to the mix:

  • Muslin bag containing: 2 cinnamon sticks and a star anise
  • The rind of 1 lemon
  • 3 cups of dark sugar
  • 20cl Brandy
